Custom Engineering
If there is a particular machine you need to build Ellworx has the capability to design, manufacture, and test. We have produced a range of different machines successfully from Trial Plot Seeders to Feedgrain fermenters.
Here are just a couple of the bespoke machines we have manufactured in the past.
Trial Plot Seeder
This trial plot seeder was built for the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD). It is a complex machine and incorporates 3 cone seeders, 3 sixty litre bulk hoppers, 2 Liquid System units, topdress bar, Fungacide/wetting agent meter, coulters, deepbanding discs, deep banding fertiliser tynes, and seeding tynes on a parallelogram with press wheels.
This is all fitted on a machine under 2.5m wide and designed to tow extremely well thanks to the dual wheels and sshock absorbers. It has a full set of road lights, and electric brakes.
The 300mm cones, fertiliser and seed meters are made in house using our designs with many parts made on a 3D printer using PETG. This material provides strong relilient parts able to operate in tough conditions and high UV.
Trial Plot Seeder
This machine was built for the CSIRO and incorporated a rear toolbar with 9 Horwood Bagshaw tyne assemblies, two cone seeders, two small hoppers, and a Liquid Systems unit for using liquids such as fertiliser, and wetting agents.
The brief called for a rear toolbar to reduce operator dust, and allow for easy tyne maintenance and adjustment. The toolbar is fitted to a parallelogram to maintain an accurate level at any depth.
A stub axle was modified to allow an electromagnetic clutch to be fitted for driving the seed cones and hopper meters. This was a neat solution removing the need for a traditional jockey wheel arrangement.
Grain Regenerator
This machine was made for a customer who wanted to soak grains with supplements for feeding to livestock. It heated the grain/water mix and maintained agitation over a period of at least 24 hours. It then dispensed the feed into troughs for livestock stock, all controlled by a pendant from the vehicle cabin. We are now going to use a similar concept for mixing compost slurries to tree rows or crops. It will assist in the transition to low/no input farming by accelerating soil biology and plant health and production.
